Structured Packing Product Overview:
Summary — engineered for compact, efficient separation
Metal structured packing provides ordered, repeatable flow channels
that optimize gas-liquid contact while keeping hydraulic resistance
low. This makes it especially suitable for retrofit works and new
installations where column height or weight is constrained. By
converting conventional tray or random packed duties to structured
packing, operators often achieve the same separation with reduced
column height and steadier stage performance.
Hydrodynamics & performance tradeoffs
The packings consist of corrugated metal sheets assembled at
specific stacking angles to generate predictable vapor and liquid
pathways. Available grades cover a range of specific surface areas
and corrugation pitches so designers can select a grade matched to
the plant’s F-factor and liquid loading. Fine-pitch packings
increase mass transfer for low-velocity duty while coarser pitches
tolerate higher vapor loads and particulate presence with lower
fouling risk. Performance maps and HETP curves are provided to
support process simulation and scaling.
Materials, surface treatment and durability
Material selection is critical for compatibility and longevity.
SS316L and Alloy 625 are recommended for sour or halide-containing
streams; PTFE-lined or ceramic coated panels are options for highly
corrosive services. Surface finishes such as electropolish reduce
particulate adhesion and ease cleaning. For abrasive gas streams we
advise thicker sheet options and sacrificial protective coatings to
extend service life. We provide corrosion rate data and life-cycle
cost comparisons to support material selection.
Integration, maintenance and project support
Modules are supplied as pre-cut panels or boxed modules for rapid
onsite installation. We include support ring recommendations,
hold-down details, and distributor/collector compatibility notes.
For project orders we offer CAD layouts, sample modules for pilot
testing, and onsite commissioning support. Typical lead time is
10–35 days depending on material and volume; packaging per module
uses pallets, protective film and crates as required.
