5. Installation & Start-Up Guide

1. Power down rack OR verify < 70 % power budget for hot-swap.
2. Insert module in any RX3i I/O slot; secure captive screws to 0.4 N·m.
3. Wire twinax – strip 10 mm, insert under clamp, torque 0.3 N·m; maintain shield continuity.
4. Assign drop # – use Proficy Machine Edition > Hardware Configuration > Genius Bus > Auto-scan.
5. Verify token – green “TOKEN” LED flashes every 2 ms when bus healthy.
6. Save & download – store configuration in CPU flash for retention across power cycles.
