The Anderson SB 50 connectors, a design pioneered in 1953, set the
standard for DC power distribution and battery connections. These
two-pole connectors feature a one-piece plastic housing with
stainless steel springs to hold low-resistance contacts. Suitable
for wire sizes from 16 to 6 AWG (1.5 to 13.3 mm), the SB 50 offers
low-resistance silver or tin-plated copper contacts allowing
UL-rated currents up to 120 amps. They are UL-rated for
hot-plugging up to 50 amps, making them ideal for applications
requiring circuit interruption, such as battery systems. The
connector system supports wire, PCB, and busbar contacts, providing
a versatile connection solution.
