High-Temperature Resistant Waterproof Deep Groove Ball Bearings PTFE Seals ZrO2 Ceramic Bearing
Full Ceramic Bearing
Ceramic bearings have excellent performance with their special electrical and magnetism resistance, wear and corrosion resistance, maintenance free lubrication, high and low temperature resistance etc. So they are suitable to be used in tough environments and special conditions.
Our full ceramic ball bearings can be supplied with rings and balls made from zirconia (ZrO2) or silicon nitride (Si3N4). They are available as full complement (no cage) or with a cage made from PEEK or PTFE. Full ceramic bearings are for medium load and medium speed applications. It is not possible to achieve the inner and outer ring roundness that is found with precision steel bearings so full ceramic bearings have lower speed ratings.
They also have lower load ratings than steel bearings. Ceramic materials are much harder than steel but this also means they are more brittle, particularly silicon nitride. This reduces their load ratings.
One benefit of full ceramic bearings is that they are highly corrosion resistant to seawater and most chemicals, including acids and alkalis. They are found in the chemical industry, food and beverage industry, marine applications, chlorine systems, film processing equipment and fuel handling equipment to name just a few areas of use. Full ceramic bearings have excellent low temperature performance which is why they can be found in cryogenic applications. They can also withstand extremely high temperatures so they are often used in furnace applications. As they are non-magnetic, they are suitable for motors used in MRI scanners, magnetometers, semi-conductor manufacturing equipment or any application in which the bearings may be exposed to a strong magnetic field. These bearings are also non-conductive.

Material Types:
1.Silicon Nitride (Si₃N₄): The gold standard for ceramic elements.
It offers higher fracture toughness, extreme hardness, and superior
fatigue resistance.
2.Zirconia (ZrO₂): Often tougher and more resilient to shock loads,
with thermal expansion properties more closely resembling steel.
3.Silicon Carbide (SiC): Used for incredibly high-temperature and
highly corrosive industrial applications.
Characters:
EXTREME HIGH TEMPERATURE CAPABILITY
When temperatures exceed 572 Deg. F. (300 Deg. C) standard 440C
stainless steel and 52100 chrome steel materials begin to lose
their mechanical properties. Full ceramic bearings have the
advantage of extreme high temperature capability up to 1800 Deg. F.
LIGHT WEIGHT
Full ceramic bearings are light weight. In applications
implementing many bearing units or utilizing larger sizes this can
help reduce the total weight of the overall product. Reducing
weight can reduce effects such as vibration and stress caused by
out of balance applications. Weight reduction in rotating
assemblies can increase speed capability and efficiency.
NON-MAGNETIC
Full ceramic bearings are non-magnetic and will not cause
interference in applications where there is strong magnetic field
exposure such as electron beam processes.
EXTREME CORROSION RESISTANCE
Full ceramic bearings are highly corrosion resistant and will stand
up to most common acids, they will not corrode in exposure to water
or salt water.
ISOLATING & NON-CONDUCTIVE
Full ceramic bearings are electrically non-conductive and thermal
insulating.
