Mechanism

- Acceleration effect: Lithium chloride increases the hydration rate of cement components and promotes faster formation of hydrated calcium silicate (C-S-H), which is crucial for early strength.

- Alleviates ASR: Lithium ions (Li+) replace sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+) ions in the ASR gel to form a non-swelling lithium silicate compound, thereby preventing the harmful effects of ASR.
