Hardware& Accessories for Optical Fibre Aerial Cables

The optical fibre aerial cables(ADSS or OPGW) can be stressed up to a limited tensile force without any increase of the optical signal damping in the fibers. However, in the case of a radial force, the optical damping will increase by bounds. This increase can lead to a reduction of the information flow through the fibers.

As the optical fibers must be protected against inadmissible radial forces during and after the installation of optical fibre aerial cables, the fittings at the tension-, suspension- and fixing points have to meet special requirements.

The operation principle of helical formed accessories is based on the principle of the development of a low pressure over a large area. The induced radial forces are spread over a larger contact surface (for example dead end) in such a way that the fibers are not insufferable stressed and the necessary gripping forces are achieved. By wrapping the helical rods on a optical fibre aerial cable, a spring tension is created, producing the necessary frictional contact. This spring tension is elastic and ensures a constant grip.

To ensure the full performance, helical formed accessories must exactly be adapted to the outside diameter of optical fibre aerial cable .

Tension assembly sets for ADSS

• Product introduction

1. This type of tension clamp is a preformed dead end, it can be applied on tension towers /poles

2. The type can be selected according the cable: diameter,RTS and span length

3. Whole set of tension assembly will be included each of : inner protection preformed armor rods(alternatively), outer layer-dead end and thimble. Connecting fittings will be included according to the requirement. (such as U- shackle,link plate,link ring and so on, as show on referring picture)

• Products specification

1. Inner protection preformed armor rods are made of Aluminum clad steel,every subsets are glued and sanded inside surface, ends of the rods are bend outward(about 20mm) , to protect surface of ADSS cable;

2. Outer layer- dead ends are made of aluminum clad steel , totally combined together ,glued and sanded at inside of the surface.

3. Thimble ia made of malleable cast iron,hot dip galvanized .It has 5 types with different rated load :5KN;50KN; 70KN; 100KN；120KN

4. Connecting fittings :such as U-shackle,link plate,link ring and so on, all ferrous parts are hot dip galvanized. For detail can refer in our “connecting fittings”

First 4 figures group : largest possible cable diameter for which the accessory is suitable (measurement: mm)

Last 3 figures group : longest span length for which the accessory is suitable (measurement: m)
