XLH EtherCAT Bus Controller: Card-Type Design & High-Performance
Core for Versatile Motion Control
Common Installation Issues
Controller fails to start after powering on at overseas factory
Likely voltage mismatch. Domestic devices are designed for 380V,
but many countries use 220V industrial power. Use a 3-phase
220V-to-380V step-up transformer to avoid undervoltage protection
or power module damage.
EtherCAT bus devices disconnect intermittently with frequent data
packet loss
Keep control cables at least 10cm away from high-power equipment.
Ensure all devices share a single star grounding point with the
controller's dedicated grounding terminal tightly connected to
prevent electromagnetic interference.
Local inspections reject equipment due to certification standards
Confirm device has required regional certifications (CE for EU, UL
508 for US). Prepare certification documents in advance and
complete supplementary tests if needed to avoid project delays.
Controller overheats and crashes in tropical environments
Ensure operating temperature stays within 0-55℃ range. Install
cooling fans or heat sinks if no air conditioning. Maintain proper
ventilation and avoid sealed cabinets. Regular dust cleaning
prevents heat dissipation blockage.
Technical Operation Solutions
EtherCAT bus fails to connect with servo drives during
commissioning
Verify servo's EtherCAT ID matches XDPPro configuration. Use
shielded twisted pair cables with proper grounding. Confirm
third-party servos support CoE (CANopen over EtherCAT) protocol.
PLC reports power supply errors despite correct 24VDC voltage
Add stabilized DC power supply to handle voltage fluctuations
common in overseas grids. Ensure power cables are sufficiently
thick to prevent voltage drop over long runs.
Program downloads but motion control functions don't work
Activate motion control license and input actual axis parameters
(acceleration, soft limits). Set correct EtherCAT cycle time (1ms
for 16+ axes) to prevent motion lag.
Can't connect to PLC remotely for troubleshooting
Ensure factory firewall allows XDPPro communication port (port 502
for Modbus-TCP). Set up VPN connection for dynamic IP environments.
Use industrial Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi for stable remote access.
