Iron Control Agent BA1-2

During oil well acidizing treatments, the generation of iron ions is unavoidable. As the acid–rock reaction proceeds and the acid activity gradually decreases, the pH value rises to a certain range, causing iron ions to hydrolyze and precipitate as Fe(OH)₃ within the reservoir. This precipitation can plug pore throats, leading to reduced acidizing effectiveness.

BA1-2 functions in the acid solution through chelation and reduction, keeping iron ions in a soluble ionic state so they can remain in the fluid and be returned to the surface. The use of BA1-2 effectively prevents secondary reservoir damage and improves acidizing performance.
