Power Stage Stability
The T8310C utilizes an internal DC/DC converter designed for
industrial power envelopes. While nominal at 24V, it maintains
logic stability between 18-32V. Critical: Rapid ripple (>1V p-p)
may cause jitter on the expander bus. Always verify PSU regulation
before commissioning high-speed TMR loops.
Thermal Density Constraints
60°C is the ambient limit. Inside a high-density 19-inch rack, the
T8310C (1.28kg mass) acts as a heat sink. To avoid localized
thermal throttling, we recommend a 3cm "cooling gap" or forced
airflow if adjacent slots are populated with high-wattage I/O
modules.
Mechanical Load & Connector Stress
The T8310C's 30.2cm height creates a significant lever arm. The
module features precision-machined guide rails to ensure gas-tight
seating. Maintenance Protocol: Captive screws must be torqued to
prevent "connector creep" in high-vibration environments,
protecting the triplicated signal pins from fretting corrosion.
TMR Voting Determinism
Negligible. The T8310C is a hardware-level expander. It replicates
the Inter-bus protocol with nanosecond latency. TMR voting logic
remains centralized at the T8000 controller; the T8310C simply
extends the deterministic "Reach" of the safety backbone without
adding software-processing overhead.
Logistics & Compliance (USA vs. China)
None. The Country of Origin (COO) is fixed at the manufacturing
point (USA). Shipment from Xiamen is a regional fulfillment
strategy by ICS Triplex/Rockwell. All modules carry the original
factory serialization and are eligible for global SIL3
certification regardless of the logistics hub.
Atmospheric Tolerance (5-95% RH)
The T8310C PCBA is conformal-coated. While rated for 95% RH, this
applies to non-condensing environments. If the site is prone to
temperature swings near the dew point, enclosure heaters are
mandatory to prevent micro-condensation on the expander bus
interface.
Cold-Start Recovery (Storage)
Mandatory Acclimation. Do not energize a "cold-standby" T8310C
immediately. Allow a 4-hour thermal soak at +20°C. Rapid 24VDC
initialization on a sub-zero module can cause ceramic capacitor
fractures or surface frost leading to short-circuits.
Form Factor Footprint
No. The T8310C is specifically keyed for the Trusted™ Chassis. The
30.2cm height is proprietary to the Trusted™ backplane
architecture. Attempting to force the module into a generic
Eurocard rack will damage the high-density expansion port.
