The MTDPR-08-V is an 8 position piano type DIP switch built on a 2.54mm (0.1") pitch footprint with right angle through hole terminals. Each of the 8 independent SPST ON-OFF circuits is actuated by a white side-lever key on a red flame-retardant housing, so operators can set an address, baud rate, or configuration code from the edge of the board — after the PCB is already mounted inside the enclosure.
Compared with a standard flat slide DIP switch, the piano (side-actuated) format keeps the operating face parallel to the front panel, which shortens assembly time and removes the need for a service technician to open the top cover. The part is RoHS compliant, supplied in anti-static tube packing, and is available for OEM / ODM customization in position count, housing color, and terminal plating.

A standard DIP switch is actuated from the top of the package. A piano type DIP switch uses side-mounted lever keys, so it is operated from the edge of the PCB. This lets you change settings through a front panel slot without removing the board or opening the top cover.
Each position is an independent SPST ON-OFF circuit, so 8 positions provide 2⁸ = 256 binary combinations — enough for device addressing, baud rate selection, or mode configuration on a single component.
