A two-roll calender is a forming machine composed of two parallel rollers rotating in opposite directions. Relying on the pressure and shear force generated at the roll gap, it compresses viscous materials such as rubber, plastic, silicone and graphite into continuous sheets or films with uniform thickness and smooth surfaces. Unlike the two-roll mixing mill (for rubber mixing and plasticating), its core function is precision thickness setting and sheet extrusion.
