Functions

1. Electrical Insulation (Primary Function): It separates live parts at different potentials, as well as energized components from earthed metal housings, to eliminate electric leakage, phase-to-phase short circuits and earth breakdown. It also suppresses partial discharge and ensures safe isolation between high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
2. Mechanical Support and Positioning: It secures the mounting positions of windings, lead wires and iron cores, and prevents displacement and deformation induced by vibration during transportation and operation.
3. Auxiliary Heat Dissipation and Flow Guidance: Arranged insulating stays and spacers form oil flow passages to guide the circulating flow of transformer oil and dissipate heat generated by windings in operation.
4. Protection and Durability: It withstands immersion in transformer oil, high temperatures and humid environments, slows down the aging and corrosion of internal components, and extends the overall service life of the transformer.
