The BYD Destroyer 05 features a front MacPherson strut independent suspension across all trims. The front shock absorber is strut-type (separate from or integrated with the coil spring, depending on configuration), installed between the body and the steering knuckle, serving as the core damping element of the suspension system.
The front shock absorber performs three core functions: cushioning and damping, rebound control, and body stabilization – directly affecting ride comfort, handling stability, and tire contact patch. According to vehicle specifications, the Destroyer 05 front suspension features MacPherson strut independent suspension working with Electric Power Steering for precise steering feedback.
According to chassis construction principles, the automobile chassis consists of four systems: transmission, running gear (including suspension), steering, and braking. The front shock absorber, as a key actuator of the suspension system, directly affects the vehicle's NVH performance and driving safety.
In daily use, the front shock absorber is长期 subjected to road impacts and cyclic loads, making it prone to oil leakage, damping degradation, and abnormal noise – one of the most frequently replaced wearable parts in the chassis suspension system.
Our product is strictly developed to original Destroyer 05 OE specifications, with mounting holes, piston rod diameter, dust boot slots, and bump stop interfaces precisely matching the original 1:1. Compatible with all 2022-2025 Destroyer 05 models (55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition).
The Destroyer 05 features a front MacPherson strut independent suspension, with the front shock absorber working together with the steering knuckle and lower control arm. Our product strictly meets original shock absorber parameters, ensuring suspension geometry remains consistent with the original after installation without additional adjustment.
The front shock absorber features a twin-tube gas-charged construction with high-pressure nitrogen gas filling, effectively preventing oil foaming and ensuring stable damping force during extended driving.
The piston rod is induction hardened with hard chrome plating, achieving surface hardness above HRC 55 for excellent wear resistance. The piston valve system features precision valve disc stacks for precise compression and rebound damping force distribution – balancing comfort and handling.
According to chassis system principles, the shock absorber works together with the elastic element (spring) to absorb road impacts. Our product is precisely tuned for damping force to match the Destroyer 05's spring rate, ensuring optimal damping performance.
The seal uses imported HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) material, offering excellent high-temperature resistance, ozone resistance, and wear resistance – effectively addressing common oil leakage issues found in original shock absorbers.
The piston rod and cylinder are precision-ground with surface roughness Ra≤0.2μm for precise fit. The shock absorber oil features high-viscosity-index mineral oil – good low-temperature fluidity at -40°C and high thermal stability.
Each product undergoes 100% damping force testing and sealing inspection before shipment, ensuring zero-defect delivery.
Tool Preparation:
18mm/19mm/21mm socket wrenches
Spring compressor (if separating spring from shock)
Torque wrench
Safety stands
Jack or lift
Important Safety Note: Front shock absorber replacement involves spring compression – spring compressor is mandatory. Do not remove the top nut without compressing the spring, as it may cause serious injury.
Installation Steps:
Lift Vehicle: Raise front using jack or lift, secure with safety stands, remove front wheels
Remove Brake Caliper: Remove brake caliper and hang from body (avoid pulling brake hose)
Remove Stabilizer Link: Remove stabilizer link-to-strut mounting bolt
Separate Tie Rod: Use ball joint separator to disconnect tie rod ball joint
Separate Lower Control Arm: Use ball joint separator to disconnect control arm ball joint from knuckle
Remove Strut Connection: Remove strut-to-knuckle mounting bolts
Remove Top Nut: Use spring compressor to compress spring, remove strut top nut
Remove Old Strut: Remove old strut from vehicle
Clean Mounting Area: Clean rust and dirt from mounting points
Install New Strut: Position new strut, install top nut
Install Knuckle Bolts: Install strut-to-knuckle bolts, pre-tighten
Reassemble: Reinstall control arm, tie rod, stabilizer link, brake caliper in reverse order
Torque Bolts: Use torque wrench to tighten all bolts to specification
Install Wheel: Install wheel, lower vehicle
Wheel Alignment: Wheel alignment is mandatory after front strut replacement
