The DK7730 high-speed CNC wire-cut EDM machine is a mature and
widely utilized piece of electrical discharge machining (EDM)
equipment in the precision mold and mechanical machining
industries. It employs molybdenum wire as the electrode, utilizing
high-frequency pulse discharges to generate instantaneous high
temperatures that melt and erode metal material, thereby achieving
the desired cutting shape. Unlike traditional mechanical cutting,
this wire-cut process involves no rigid contact pressure or tool
wear, and the workpiece remains unaffected by cutting forces; these
characteristics make it a core tool for machining complex,
high-precision, and difficult-to-machine metal parts.
The machine features a mechanically sound and highly rigid main
structure, laying a solid foundation for long-term, stable
operation. It is equipped with high-precision ball screws and
linear guideways, utilizing a direct-drive screw configuration and
automatic backlash compensation. This design effectively eliminates
transmission backlash, ensures smooth and precise axial movement,
and maintains consistent machining accuracy during prolonged,
continuous cutting operations. With a standard table travel of
300×360 mm, a maximum cutting thickness of 400 mm, and a load
capacity of 200 kg, it meets the machining requirements for the
vast majority of conventional small-to-medium precision workpieces.
Additionally, the machine supports ±6° taper cutting (extendable to
45° via custom configuration), enabling the single-pass machining
of tapered surfaces, inclined holes, and complex geometric
components.
In terms of performance, the DK7730 strikes a balance between high
speed and high precision. It achieves a maximum cutting speed of
100 mm²/min, significantly boosting batch processing efficiency
compared to standard low-speed wire-cut machines. An optimized
pulse power supply and specialized frequency converter accelerate
material removal while reducing energy consumption and operating
noise, facilitating energy-efficient production. Overall machining
accuracy is controlled within 0.015 mm, with an optimal surface
roughness of Ra 2.5 μm. A closed-loop control system—equipped with
1 μm high-precision linear scales—enables real-time positioning and
pitch error compensation, effectively preventing dimensional
deviations caused by mechanical deformation and ensuring
exceptional repeatability.
