Ferrovanadium melting furnace is the core equipment for
ferrovanadium (FeV) production. Mostly designed as three-phase electric arc furnace for aluminothermic and silicothermic processes. It is compatible
with raw materials like vanadium pentoxide and vanadium trioxide,
featuring high-temperature smelting, precise temperature control,
low energy consumption and high recovery rate. Widely applied in
metallurgy, special steel, aerospace and other industries.
1. Equipment Composition
1.1 Furnace Body System
- Furnace Shell: Made of 16–20mm thick welded steel plate with reinforcing ribs
for high rigidity and deformation resistance.
- Furnace Lining: Constructed with magnesia brick, magnesia-chrome brick or
high-alumina brick (refractoriness ≥ 1700℃), featuring excellent
slag corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance for long
service life.
- Furnace Door & Tapping Spout: Water-cooled furnace door for feeding, observation and slag
skimming; tapping spout lined with refractory materials to resist
high-temperature scouring.
1.2 Furnace Roof & Lifting Mechanism
- Furnace Roof: Lined with magnesia-chrome bricks with central electrode holes
for good sealing and heat insulation.
- Lifting Mechanism: Electric-hydraulic driven for stable lifting and rapid response,
facilitating feeding and maintenance.
1.3 Electrode System (Core Component)
- Electrodes: High-purity graphite electrodes (Diameter: 200–350mm) with
superior electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance and
low wear rate.
- Current-conducting Cross Arm: Water-cooled copper alloy structure with low resistance and large
current carrying capacity to ensure stable power supply.
- Electrode Lifting: Closed-loop automatic control to adjust arc length accurately and
stabilize furnace temperature and power output.
1.4 Furnace Tilting Mechanism
- Hydraulic driven tilting system with smooth operation and no
impact. Tilting angle: 0–45°, ensuring smooth slag removal and
tapping.
- Equipped with limit and self-locking devices for operational
safety.
1.5 Electrical Control System
- Power Transformer: Rated capacity 1800–5000kVA with multiple voltage gears
(127–380V) to meet requirements of different smelting stages.
- Electric Control Cabinet: Adopts PLC and touch screen, integrating temperature control,
power regulation, electrode lifting and fault alarm to realize
fully automatic operation.
- Temperature Measurement: Combined infrared thermometer and thermocouple for real-time
temperature monitoring. Temperature control accuracy: ±5℃, working
temperature range 1400–1700℃.
1.6 Auxiliary Systems
- Water Cooling System: Forced water cooling for furnace shell, furnace roof and
electrode cross arm. Surface temperature ≤ 35℃ for safety and
energy saving.
- Dedusting System: Matched with bag dust collector and flue gas purification device
to meet environmental protection standards.
- Feeding System: Automatic batching and quantitative feeding to ensure accurate
material ratio and consistent product quality.
