Precision OEM OE Specification Match
Developed based on BYD Yuan Pro original vehicle data, with OE reference number SC-6301010/77 and cross-reference number 11669643-00. Hinge holes and latch positions fully match OEM specifications for direct installation without panel beating adjustment.
Side-Opening Tailgate Structure
Fits the Yuan Pro original side-opening tailgate design. Compared to liftgate designs, it is easier for female drivers to operate while retaining the classic external spare tire “backpack” styling with high recognition.
High-Strength Sheet Metal Construction
Stamped from automotive-grade high-strength steel, offering excellent impact resistance and structural rigidity to effectively ensure rear energy absorption performance during rear-end collisions.
Complete Accompanying Components Available
Available with rear tailgate lock assembly, tailgate seal, and tailgate hinges as accompanying parts. Can be purchased as a complete set or replaced individually, meeting one-stop procurement needs of repair shops.
Multi-Version Fitment Coverage
Fits Yuan Pro 2021-2023 (50.1 kWh version), also compatible with Yuan EV, S2, and Yuan S1 Pro models.
Disconnect the negative battery cable before operation. The Yuan Pro tailgate integrates the license plate light, reversing camera (some models), and high-mount brake light. Disconnect power before unplugging connectors to avoid fault codes or module damage.
The tailgate with external spare tire is heavy—two-person operation or support tool required. The Yuan Pro tailgate uses a side-opening structure, and the external spare tire further increases its weight. Two people must support it during removal to prevent sudden falling, personal injury, or paint damage.
Professional panel technician recommended. Tailgate assembly involves hinge positioning, gap/flushness adjustment, and sealing performance. Lack of experience may cause water leaks or noise.
The Yuan Pro tailgate features an external spare tire design. Use the double-ended screwdriver (Phillips end) from the onboard tool kit to loosen the spare tire cover retaining screws. Open the cover clamp and remove the cover from top to bottom. Then use the tool to release the spare tire mounting device and remove the spare tire. Removing the spare tire significantly reduces tailgate weight for easier handling.
Use a plastic pry tool to pry the plastic clips one by one starting from the trim panel edge. The tailgate trim panel is typically secured by multiple clips around the perimeter. After releasing all clips, grip both sides and pull outward evenly to separate from the tailgate. Note: The side-opening tailgate trim panel may include the rear wiper motor cover—watch for attached wiring.
After separating the trim panel, disconnect the internal wiring connectors in sequence, which may include: license plate light connector, reversing camera connector (if equipped), and high-mount brake light connector. Press the locking tab on each connector and pull out smoothly to avoid damaging the wiring.
The Yuan Pro side-opening tailgate typically features a lateral strut or limiter. Pry open the retaining clip at the strut end with a flathead screwdriver and pull the ball socket off the body or tailgate ball stud. Ensure the tailgate is reliably supported before removal to prevent sudden opening or falling after the strut is detached.
Use a 10mm socket to remove the upper and lower hinge bolts connecting the tailgate to the body. Two people should support the tailgate to prevent it from falling after all bolts are removed.
After removing all hinge bolts, separate the old tailgate assembly from the body. Note: The side-opening tailgate hinge position differs from liftgate types. Move it out laterally slowly to avoid scratching the body side paint. Place the old tailgate on a soft surface.
Align the new tailgate assembly with the body hinge positions. With two people supporting it, insert the hinge bolts and tighten preliminarily without fully securing to allow gap adjustment.
Gap adjustment key points: Loosen hinge bolts and gently push the tailgate up/down/left/right to even out gaps. After confirming satisfactory gaps, tighten lightly, close the tailgate, and check. If side adjustment is insufficient, loosen all bolts and move the entire tailgate.
After confirming satisfactory gap adjustment, tighten the hinge bolts one by one in a diagonal sequence. Apply even force, avoiding over-tightening that could damage threads.
Align the strut ball socket with the body or tailgate ball stud and press into place. Confirm the clip is locked.
Connect the tailgate harness connectors to the body harness, reconnecting the license plate light, reversing camera, and high-mount brake light connectors. Ensure all clips are fully engaged. Align the trim panel with the tailgate clips and press evenly with your palm until a “click” is heard.
Reinstall the spare tire onto the bracket in reverse order of removal. Reinstall the spare tire cover, tighten the retaining screws, and secure the clamp.
Restore vehicle power and test the following functions in sequence: tailgate open/close (side-opening), tailgate locking, license plate light, reversing camera (if equipped), high-mount brake light, and rear wiper (if equipped). Confirm even gaps and secure locking after closing.
Side-opening tailgate hinge position is special: The Yuan Pro tailgate opens laterally with hinges on the door side, unlike liftgate types (hinges on roof). Move laterally during removal/installation to avoid scratching the body side.
External spare tire must be removed first: The spare tire is heavy. Not removing it makes the tailgate assembly too heavy for safe single-person operation and may damage hinges.
Gap adjustment requires patience: May require repeated open-close testing. Tighten all bolts only after achieving satisfactory adjustment.
