BYD Yuan Pro Front Windshield

Precision OEM OE Specification Match

Developed based on BYD Yuan Pro original vehicle data, with OE reference numbers SCED-5206010A and 12539644-00. Mounting points and glass curvature match OEM specifications for direct installation without modification.

Laminated Safety Glass Construction

Utilizing laminated safety glass technology, fragments adhere to the interlayer upon impact, preventing dangerous splashing and meeting mandatory national safety standards.

OEM-Supplier Fuyao Glass Equivalent Quality

BYD vehicle glass is supplied by Fuyao with top-tier tempered glass technology, featuring excellent transparency, tightness, and noise reduction. This product is OEM-origin or OE-standard replacement, with quality grade identical to the original.

UV Protection

The laminated interlayer provides UV blocking function, effectively reducing UV penetration into the cabin and protecting the dashboard and interior from premature aging.

Safety Precautions

Always use the glass sealant recommended by the manufacturer. Using improper sealant will affect the original bonding performance. Read the sealant manufacturer's instructions carefully before operation and follow all precautions throughout.

Do not drive before the adhesive is fully cured. Suddenly closing doors before curing may cause glass loosening or detachment. Refer to the sealant manufacturer for curing time.

Removing the Old Glass

Step 1: Remove Peripheral Components

Remove the wiper arms. Cover the body around the glass with tape to prevent damage to the body.

Step 2: Cut Old Adhesive

Use an awl to pierce a hole through the adhesive and thread the piano wire through. Use the piano wire to cut the adhesive around the glass, keeping the wire as close to the glass as possible to prevent damage to the body. This step requires two people.

Note: To prevent scratching the dashboard during glass removal, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and the dashboard.

Step 3: Remove Old Glass and Clean

After separating the glass from the body, two people should remove the old glass together. Use a knife to trim the adhesive on the body bonding surface to a thickness of 1-2mm. Clean the body bonding surface with alcohol or similar cleaner to remove grease. Before reassembly, remove old weatherstrip and adhesive from the glass.

Installing the New Glass

Step 4: Apply Primer

Wipe the body bonding surface with non-woven fabric and apply primer in a 25mm width along the body flange in a clockwise direction to enhance adhesion. Apply sufficient primer to the glass bonding surface perimeter, approximately 15mm wide. Refer to product instructions for primer drying time (typically 30 seconds to several minutes).

Step 5: Apply Sealant

After the primer dries, apply glass adhesive evenly along the windshield weatherstrip edge on the front cowl. The adhesive bead should be triangular, approximately 10×12mm. The adhesive must be even, continuous, and uninterrupted.

Step 6: Install New Glass

Use suction cups to hold the windshield and press it onto the body panel. Tap the adhesive area with appropriate force. Complete the adhesive application and installation steps within 10 minutes to ensure sufficient bonding strength.

Step 7: Secure and Inspect

If the weatherstrip is not fully attached, press and secure with tape until the bonding area is completely fixed. Reinstall the wiper arms. Check that the glass fits properly against the body.

Curing and Testing

Step 8: Curing Wait

Do not drive before the sealant is fully cured. Each adhesive has its own curing time—refer to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 9: Water Leak Test

Perform the water leak test only after the sealant is fully cured. Pour water from a hose onto the windshield to check for leaks. Never use a high-pressure water gun for testing.

Step 10: Leak Repair

If water seepage is found, dry the glass and fill the leak area with adhesive. If leakage persists after filling, remove the glass and reinstall following the steps above.

Important Notes

Primer and adhesive: follow manufacturer instructions. When using primer and adhesive from other manufacturers, always refer to their provided instructions.

Do not touch the primer-coated surface after application.
