    Glass Lined Reactor with Conventional Jacket

    • Features and Solutions

    Glass-Lined Steel Reactors with conventional jacket are the most widely used reactor type for chemical and pharmaceutical industries. J.H. Equipment can supply you high quality glass lined jacketed reactors from 50 liters up to 20,000 liters. You can choose open type or close-welded construction as per your preference. However, because of glassing process requirement, we suggest you choose close-welded type begining from 2,500 liters.

    To achieve better heat transfer rate in a conventional jacketed reactor, it's quite necessary for you to use agitating nozzles. The agitating nozzles will project into the jacket space, which can produce turbulent flow in the jacket and will improve the heating or cooling efficiency.

    • Total Quality-Control

    -Steel Selecting and Fabrication: The quality of steel plate for glass-lined equipment is rigidly specified and carefullycontrolled. Welding procedures and materials are very exacting and are kept in within strict limits. The weld materials are selected for good strength and maximum integrity to minimize porosity and slag inclusions in the weld. Such weld defectes can be sources of serious glassing problems in subsequent operations.

    -Flat sttel plates are first trimmed to size and beveled for welding. The plate is then rolled to form a cylinder, and the long seam is welded. Meanwhile, seal heads are trimmed to size and the reuqired nozzles are swaged or flued to provide a smooth radius. The nozzles then tack-welded to the seal heads, during this process, our engineers will make sure the nozzles are perfectly level and are at the correct height. Then the heads are welded to cylindrical shell with automatic welding machine.

    - Grinding , non-destructive detection and pressure test. Our workerswill grind all welds to be smooth, which is a very important process for before glassing. In the meaning time, X-ray non-destruction detection be taken to make sure all welded areas to meet requirement of contruction code. Hydraulic test is also a must step.

    - Glassing Process and Glass Test. High quality glass-lining be coated to smooth steel surface by several times, so that glass layer can reach the best property after firing in electric furnace. Spark test and glass thickness test be executed to ensure

    -Exterior Treatment. After sand-blasing treatment, two times epoxy primer be painted to equipment body before final acrylic coating.

    - Inspection before shipment. After installation,test-running will be executed in a safe and suitable conditions.We will assist our customers with all possible inspection requirement, which include:

    • Dimentional Conformance
    • Glass Thickness Test
    • Glass Spark Test
    • Hydraulic or Pheumatic Test
    • Other Test requirement if any

    - Packing and Transport Final Check. Upon time of shipment, all glass lined nozzles will be protected by PTFE enveloped gaskets or plastic materials. Out surface paint be checked to ensure the exterior looking of the equipment. Spare parts and accessories be nicely packed and marked.
